WindSync is an international touring Wind Quintet of flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, and horn instruments. WindSync launched an international touring career after winning several prestigious national competitions and has appeared in concert at Ravinia, the Met Museum, Shanghai Oriental Arts Center, the Library of Congress, and Carnegie Hall, among other prestigious venues. The ensemble regularly coaches at training programs nationwide, collaborates with youth orchestras, and performs for thousands of young people each year. 
On the day of the event, CURRENT UTRGV students can get free admission by showing their valid ID or using the GET app.

UTRGV ARTS

The UTRGV Trombone Choir proudly represents the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley at events and conferences at the local, state, national, and international levels. The ensemble is under the direction of Dr. Pedro Martinez, Professor of Trombone.
Trombone Choir is an important part of the trombone curriculum, allowing students to apply concepts in a group setting and participate in a chamber ensemble where they take personal responsibility for their parts. The ensemble rehearses weekly and performs 1-2 concerts per semester, which may include off-campus and out-of-town events, with extra rehearsals before major performances. Consisting of 8-22 trombonists, the choir focuses on honing ensemble skills like blend, balance, and intonation with repertoire from Renaissance to contemporary works, including UTRGV student premieres. The aim is to improve section playing skills for other ensembles like Symphonic Band, Wind Orchestra, or Symphony Orchestra. Some of the ensemble’s most recent performances from 2024, include the Big 12 Trombone Conference in Lubbock, TX in January 2024, the Tourbon Trombone Festival in Santiago, Chile in January of 2024, and the International Trombone Festival in Fort Worth, Texas in June 2024. The UTRGV Trombone Choir seeks to perform traditional and new music. In tonight’s concert, the UTRGV Trombone Choir is eager to perform works by Ricardo Arbiza, Sergei Prokofiev, Gustav Holst, Konrad Waßmann, and Hans Zimmer.

The Ballet presents student and public concerts annually and travels to present programs for local, state, national, and international private and public affairs. The Ballet has jointly produced ballets, concerts, zarzuelas, and musicals with the Valley Symphony Orchestra, the UTRGV Theatre, and the UTRGV Music Department.

Seating at the Pharr Natatorium is all general admission, and a digital ticket is required for entrance. To receive your digital ticket for the meet of your choice, you will need to sign up for a swim & dive pass. Once you have signed up for your swim & dive pass, you will receive an email that includes your digital tickets to both of the UTRGV swimming and diving meets for the 2024-25 season! Simply show the digital ticket for the game of your choice to a UTRGV staff member at the gate to be scanned for entrance.

Mariachi Sol de Mexico de Jose Hernandez will be the featured mariachi at the FESTIBA Mariachi Festival 2025, on March 2, 2025. Jóse Hernàndez is a master of mariachi music. An internationally recognized musician, composer and arranger, he is the leading mariachi educator in the nation. He has recorded with the most respected and recognized names in the industry, including Selena, Vicente Fernandez, Luis Miguel, and the Beach Boys, and has received four Grammy nominations.
