The 2025 Canadian College Finals Rodeo has a new home in Rimbey, Alberta May 16 to 18th, 2025. Top Canadian collegiate rodeo athletes attending post-secondary schools from all over Western Canada will compete for the Canadian Collegiate Championship! Over the three-day event, there will be three separate rodeo performances on Friday Night, Saturday night and Sunday Afternoon where we will be crowing our Champions!

Introducing "La Grange - 12 hours of gravel!"
Date:Aug 16, 2025,  9am - 9pm
Location: Rosalind, AB - birthplace of Detention Brewing  
WTF dude?
Imagine all gravel, all day! 40-50 km gravel loops will showcase some of the best scenery in, around and through Rosalind, Alberta. With each lap through town, riders can replenish and refresh before heading out again.  Ride one, two or 5 laps, clockwise, counterclockwise or challenge yourself for all 12 hours. Final route TBD  
 
All riders must be self supported + self-navigate as route will not be marked. All riding abilities are welcome, all bikes are welcome including EBikes.  No prizes or rankings for this inaugural event.  $0 entry fee so please support our initial sponsors.
 
Detention Brewing will be open to keep us hydrated post ride (Hours TBD) Go Big Industries will provide a bike lube station to keep everything moving. Wood Fired Pizza food truck may also be on site. 🎸 Uptown Blues Jam Summer Festival 🎸
Dates: July 11-13 Location: Joe's Garage, 25 minutes west of Edmonton Cost: $25 per person (kids 12 and under free)
Join us for a weekend of unforgettable music, jamming and dancing at the Uptown Blues Jam Summer Festival! Set against the scenic backdrop of Joe's Garage (an idyllic, private festival ground a few minutes outside Edmonton), this festival is a celebration of the joy of music and friendship.  Each year musicians gather to play music for each other and an enthusiastic group of music lovers.  All musicians can sign the list and play on our stage.  Attendees are welcome to day trip on Saturday, or camp out and enjoy music all weekend.  Joe's Garage is a festival ground, just outside Edmonton with beautiful camping available.  
We serve a beautiful meal on Saturday evening and breakfast on Sunday.

Join the Bracket Drag Series, a heart-pounding racing circuit that’s as much about camaraderie as it is about competition. Every weekend, racers, their families, friends, and fans come together at the track to experience the thrill of high-octane drag racing. Watch as drivers in dragsters, trucks, cars, and Junior Dragsters push their skills to the limit, battling for prize money and essential points toward the season championships.
In partnership with the NHRA Division 6 regional competition, the Bracket Drag Series highlights the very best in sportsman racing across various divisions, including Electronics, Non-Electronics, Top Eliminator, Street Sportsman, and Junior Dragster.

Description of Cattail Lane 
Nick Ackerman’s life is an aimless circuit between his uninspiring job and the local bar until a note from a stranger changes everything. He learns he has a 14-year-old son, Billy, whose grandmother can no longer look after him. Railroaded into fatherhood, Nick takes in the resentful Billy and shuffles Grandma Evie off to the nearby dementia ward at Prairie View Manor. Things get off to a rocky start: father and son are little more than strangers, and Nick struggles with his new caretaking role while Billy can’t seem to let go of his. Luckily, there is Sarah, a housekeeper at Prairie View and the single mother of an energetic and offbeat five-year-old. It is Sarah who Nick turns to as a parental role model and maybe something more.  Nick, Sarah, and Billy all carry their own betrayals and disappointments and are used to keeping others at a distance, but during the dog days of summer, they are given a chance to leave past hurts behind and find a new kind of family.

Following two intertwining love stories – that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of immortal King Hades and Lady Persephone – Hadestown invites audiences on a hell-raising journey to the underworld and back in this full-length Teen Edition of Anaïs Mitchell’s haunting, jazz-inflected folk opera.
After its origins as a DIY community theatre project in 2006 and a studio album in 2010, Hadestown electrified audiences with its 2016 world premiere at New York Theatre Workshop, becoming the longest-running show in that celebrated theatre’s 40-year history. The production then received its Canadian premiere at Edmonton’s Citadel Theatre in 2017. Join the Scona Theatre Co. this season at the Timms April 22-26, 2025 as it follows Orpheus’ mythical quest to overcome Hades and regain the favor of his one true love, Eurydice.
