With 24 albums, EPs and singles under his belt, Nepean, Ontario-born Matty (Graven) is a passionate wordsmith of song who wears his heart on the sleeve of his melodies. Graven’s newest self produced album “Always Everything” came out in July 2024 and has been his most streamed and downloaded to date. It debuted at #15 on the NACC streaming charts. Recorded mostly in his own basement studio and partially at Raven Street studios in Ottawa, the 8 songs soar softly and sweetly with some heavy layered cinematic soundscapes and overtures, focusing on the societal pressures of relationships. Graven’s last album Simple Complex (2021) was recorded at Fang Studios in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and mixed by Joel Plaskett. Bouncy, jangly and thick with chunky acoustic strumming and fuzz layers, SC charted across many college radio stations in Canada and the USA and was #3 on CKCU FM’s top 50 albums of 2022 (and he was also nominated for a FACES Ottawa award for “Country Artist”. )
Graven’s 2020 record Years was produced by Jim Bryson (singer songwriter, collaborator with the Tragically Hip and producer of Kathleen Edwards award winning album “Total Freedom”) and helped put his music into new realms. Having toured across Canada thrice, he always has uplifting words and self-love promoting songs of support for anyone at his shows and his dedicated fan-base (who have dubbed themselves as “Graventown”). Whether solo, duo, trio or with his magical 5 man band (dubbed The New Band), Matty’s performances are raw, entertaining and warm. He has shared stages and opened for acts such as Jim Bryson, Sloan, The Killjoys, Steve Poltz, Danny Michel, Sarah Harmer, Elliott Brood, Kathryn Calder (New Pornographers), Great Lake Swimmers, Melissa Payne, Stephen Stanley and Ron Hawkins (Lowest of the Low) and many more. Canadian singer-songwriter Jerry Leger's latest release, Lucky Streak, is a live-in-the-studio album produced by Michael Timmins of Cowboy Junkies. It includes solo acoustic re-recordings of songs throughout Leger's body of work, presented the way they were written or the way they've evolved. Lucky Streak follows Leger's Mark Howard (Lucinda Williams, Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Willie Nelson) produced record Donlands. Released on Cowboy Junkies label, Latent Recordings, Donlands was greeted with rave reviews from UK's Uncut Magazine and Rolling Stone Germany. Jerry toured those parts of the world in support of Donlands as well as select Canadian dates. These performances included his debut on the historic Massey Hall stage in Toronto and shows opening for legendary artist Steve Earle. One of the most respected singer-songwriters around, Ron Sexsmith says, “Leger has that spark in him that all the great songwriters have. He's the real deal.”

Ball and Chain & The Wreckers are an Ottawa based band with Michael Ball and Jody Benjamin as the shackles holding this group together. Michael and Jody have been making frequent trips to Louisiana since 1997 and the music from Southwest Louisiana and its cultural context continues to fascinate them.
They play a mixture of original and cover tunes leaning towards the earlier country that still sounded like country. Some of their favourites are Hank Williams, George Jones, Roger Miller and Webb Pierce.

Gunning has never needed to look far beyond his Pictou County, Nova Scotia backyard for inspiration. That’s where the characters live. That’s where the stories come from
In many ways, the ensuing awards and accolades speak for themselves: ten East Coast Music Awards, two Canadian Folk Music Awards, four Music Nova Scotia Awards, and a Juno Award nomination for his tribute album to the late John Allan Cameron. As one reviewer aptly noted, “Gunning’s ability to blend humor with poignancy makes his performances unforgettable.” This blend is evident in his live shows, where his engaging banter and self-effacing humor create a warm, intimate atmosphere. The Fugitives are an acoustic folk-roots group headed by songwriters Adrian Glynn and Brendan McLeod. They’re joined by banjo player Chris Suen (Viper Central) and violinist Carly Frey (The Coal Porters). Over their first five albums, they’ve amassed a JUNO nomination, 6 CFMA nominations, and toured extensively through Canada, Europe, and the UK.
Performance highlights include major Canadian folk festivals, a Glastonbury performance, and a tour supporting  Buffy Sainte-Marie. In 2020, the band created RIDGE, a WW1-centered theatre show. Ridge has been performed at theatres across Canada and was named a Globe & Mail Top Arts Pick of the Year.
The band has earned a reputation for unforgettable live shows, brimming with complex harmonies, infectious storytelling, and top-notch musicianship.

The Fugitives


Aleksi grew up on stage. At five years old, he began performing alongside his mother, Canadian folk icon, Connie Kaldor. At nineteen, Aleksi moved to Paris to study under Jazz-violin legend Didier Lockwood. At twenty-one, Aleksi became the only student to have ever been accepted into the classical violin, the jazz violin and the jazz voice performance programs at McGill University. And, by twenty-five, with only a six-song EP, Aleksi graced the lineups of some of the most competitive folk festivals across Canada for three consecutive years - including the Regina, Canmore, and Bear Creek Folk Festivals.
Most recently, Aleksi received both a Canada Council Grant and a FACTOR Grant to fully fund the recording and production of his highly-anticipated 10-song debut album For the Giving, launching fall 2023. Still based out of his hometown of Montreal, Aleksi floors audiences by singing while bowing his violin and seamlessly navigating songs in English and in French. His original music blends folk songwriting with an edgy, multi-layered sound resulting from his unique combination of voice, violin, and looping-effect pedals.

On Home is a 50-minute interdisciplinary contemporary dance performance, exploring the journey of losing, seeking, and finding home.
This new work, collaboratively choreographed by the Voices Dance Project’s eight dancers, centers freedom and control, comfort and discomfort, displacement and rootedness, belonging and alienation to ask audiences: How do we reconcile our feelings of comfort and belonging in a place that is no longer safe for us? When we lose all that we know, how do we build again? Who are we when we emerge from the journey of leaving, seeking and finding home? What identities do we shed? What remains of us?
On Home is set to an original score by Ottawa-based composer Jack Hui Litster, performed live by Jack Hui Litster (percussion, electronics), Michelle Gott (harp), and Kathryn Patricia Cobbler (looping viola). It is the Voices Dance Project’s second full-length performance since its debut in October 2023.

Super-Deluxe Fiddle, Banjo, and SongThrough twenty years and a couple of thousand shows together in bands such as The Foggy Hogtown Boys and The Lonesome Ace Stringband, John Showman and Chris Coole have developed a deep and instinctual musical bond.  Their music lurks in a truly unique space that is somewhere on the outskirts of old-time, bluegrass, and folk. The songs of John Hartford, Hank Williams, Dock Boggs, and The Band share space with the fiddle tunes of Eck Robertson and Ed Haley. The duo’s original songs and tunes take in all these vistas and paint something both personal and timely. They have performed across North America and Europe at festivals such as Merlefest, Rockygrass, Winnipeg Folk Festival, Mariposa, Wintergrass, Gooikroots, and The John Hartford Memorial Festival. In 2022, the duo released two albums; “ Afield” a collection of old-time fiddle tunes, and  “Much Further Out than Inevitable – A Tribute to Some Music of John Hartford.” “John Showman has made his mark as “one of the very best and most influential fiddle players in Canada”  (Steve Pritchard, CIUT 89.5 FM).“Renowned for his clawhammer banjo picking, Coole now establishes himself as a gripping songwriter.”(Roddy Campbell, Penguin Eggs Magazine)

Reassuringly familiar, if a little bit flashier, the longsuffering but thankful NQ Arbuckle wins another battle against the urge to cut and run with “Love Songs For The Long Game,” his first new music in six years. For an artist whose songs have always grappled, at least in part, with the panic that comes with both asking and answering the question “Why am I doing this?” NQ Arbuckle has found his place writing sea shanties songs for drinking on dry land, for our labours of love large and small. These are songs to magic our straw into gold, songs to keep the dread at bay. Songs that keep promises, long after those ships have sailed.
Not fully nostalgic, not simply regretful, “Love Songs For The Long Game” is for those who seek balance between constancy and recklessness, between last call and first light. The song, like the rest of NQ Arbuckle’s catalogue, is both a grand gesture and a humble offering, honouring our commitments to family, to love and to keeping that creative spark flickering. This is no bird’s eye view, but a view from the ground, in all its messy wonder.
NQ Arbuckle is a Toronto songwriter and namesake of a twice JUNO Award nominated Toronto band. His 2002 Six Shooter cult classic debut Hanging The Battle-Scarred Pinata, produced by Luke Doucet, launched a fervent fanbase devoted to shouting his lyrics back at him, an impressive collection of print clippings, and a sporadic touring career in which NQ Arbuckle careened from Italy to Northern Alberta, Huntsville to Nashville. On “Love Songs For The Long Game,” NQ Arbuckle’s newest song, Doucet returns as producer. Recorded at The Bathouse in Kingston, ON and mixed by Howie Beck, new music also features playing by original members of NQ Arbuckle band Peter Kesper and Mark Kesper, and superlative keyboard player Robbie Grunwald.

Louris released his first solo album, Vagabonds, in 2008. His long awaited 2nd solo album, Jump For Joy, came out in the summer of 2021. In January 2021, Louris launched a Patreon page, featuring weekly posts of new and old music, video content, commentary and more.
In the summer of 2024, Louris announced on his Patreon that his 3rd solo album would be released in early 2025. A formal announcement is forthcoming.
Along with keeping the Jayhawks flame burning, Louris is currently looking to the future and is busier than ever – writing, performing, producing and exploring new collaborative opportunities.

Through hilarious dream vignettes, 'Dreamscroller' delves into the chaos that ensues when too much scrolling clashes with the natural rhythms of sleep. Be dazzled by circus aerialists defying gravity whilst poking fun at the bad habit of excessive screen use before bedtime. From can-can dancing bugs to wild new makeup trends, take a wild journey into the absurdity of our dreams. But amidst the laughter and spectacle, 'Dreamscroller' delivers a message about the importance of disconnecting from screens to preserve our mental well-being.

Join us for an evening  of Celtic Music played by some of the best in the region. There will be a concert from 8pm to 10pm, with a jam to follow, so bring your instruments and get in on the fun.
 
Allison Lupton hails from the heart of rural Ontario, Canada where her love for music took root in church choirs and local sessions.  From playing for community dances to soloing with orchestras, Allison has found her voice as a singer-songwriter and flutist after more than a quarter century performing in Canada and abroad.  Along the way Allison has received accolades from international press as well as her peers at home winning Folk Music Ontario's "Songs From The Heart" and multiple Canadian Folk Music Award nominations including “Traditional Singer of the Year”.Allison is now touring her album “Words of Love” joined by Canadian and US Grand National fiddle champion Shane Cook and CFMA Solo Instrumental Artist of the Year and Canadian Grand Master Step Dance champion Kyle Waymouth. Live shows confirm the depth of talent in a glorious mix of beautiful story songs, electrifying fiddle tunes and dazzling step dance united by the trio’s warm and frequently humourous stage presence. Woven through performances are Allison’s original songs which fit so perfectly into the treasury of folk music that they could easily be mistaken for traditional numbers.

Instructor Bio
A 2nd generation circus artist, Chloé began her circus career in 2001 alongside her father. Her multiple trainings in circus, dance, gymnastics and acting have led her to perform both in Quebec and internationally, notably on German wheel, aerial silks, hoop, Cyr wheel and clown character. 
In parallel with her career as an artist, Chloé has worked in multiple contemporary and social circus schools and organizations since 2011. She teaches German wheel, floor acrobatics, silks, hoop, Cyr wheel and several other disciplines. She In 2021, she obtained her Circus Arts Trainer diploma from the École Nationale de Cirque de Montréal. She now teaches at the Formation Supérieure de l’École de Cirque de Québec. Chloé is constantly looking for new experiences to refine her knowledge and push her students to their maximum potential, in a human and inclusive approach.

Renée-Claude has been training and performing on aerial silks and aerial hoop since 2016. She completed her aerial teaching training at the Ecole Nationale de Cirque in Montreal. She is also a skilled hula hooper, teaching and performing with LED and fire in Ottawa for over 8 years. Renée-Claude is motivated by all the creative challenges aerial arts present, from collaboratively creating new acts, characters and shows, to figuring out how to master the physics at play in dynamic movements. She is an artistic collaborator and member of the Cirquonscient performance collective.

Instructor Bio
Andrii Balykhin has dedicated his life to acrobatics, achieving the rank of Master of Sports. He graduated from the Kyiv Circus Academy with a Master’s degree in aerial gymnastics and has since toured internationally, earning numerous accolades, including gold at the 2018 Festival "Les feux de la Rampe" in France. Andrii has performed worldwide, including in China, Europe, and Germany, and has coached at his own school, "Young Vision Team," in Kyiv. Currently based in Canada, he continues to develop his acrobatic skills and share his expertise with others passionate about body control.

Instructor Bio
Katie specializes in performing but also dabbles in aerial, fire eating, burlesque, and flow arts. Her passion for the circus community and its many props, disciplines, and people has filled her curiosity and creativity for years, becoming a sort of expert generalist in her career.
​She has been fortunate to perform at venues like the Midlothian Castle,  the Canadian Museum of Nature, and the Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts.

Architects of Air Arborialis luminarium is an encounter with the phenomenon of light. An encounter that is beautiful in its simplicity, which can nevertheless be profound in its effect. Once inside, visitors are immersed into a world of shifting subtle and saturated hues where they may wander, sit down, and lose themselves in sensory bliss - awakening the senses.
Arborialis has the natural world for inspiration and is designed to echo aspects of being lost in a forest – there are radiant canopies of leaves that stretch overhead, there are vibrant tree trunks rising from the ground beneath.
The visual world of Arborialis is enhanced by the natural and spiritual sounds of the Song of Danu created by Irish composer Dr Michael Morris.

Bill FrisellBill Frisell’s career as a guitarist and composer has spanned more than 40 years and many celebrated recordings, whose catalog has been cited by Downbeat as “the best recorded output of the decade”.Grammy nominated, his latest recording is entitled Orchestras released April 2024 on Blue Note. In the trio format he’s favored throughout his career, the guitarist and composer has always projected an orchestral scope — through his remarkably complete sense of harmony, a unique gift for melodies that remain with you long after a performance, and a keen feel for how dynamic range can be used to convey emotion. But on his new double album, his fourth release for Blue Note Records, he makes those symphonic evocations a reality. Produced by Lee Townsend, Orchestras documents two inspired concert-hall engagements arranged by Michael Gibbs for Frisell’s long-standing trio with bassist Thomas Morgan and drummer Rudy Royston: one featuring the nearly 60-piece Brussels Philharmonic, conducted by Alexander Hanson; and one with the 11-piece Umbria Jazz Orchestra, under the musical direction of Manuele Morbidini.In March 2022, a biography on Frisell, entitled Beautiful Dreamer – The Guitarist Who Changed The Sound of American Music, written by Philip Watson was published by Faber and released in the UK, Europe, South, Central America & Asia. Through unprecedented access, and interviews with his close family, friends and collaborators, Philip Watson tells the story of the innovative and influential guitarist and composer. Recognized as one of America’s 21 most vital and productive performing artists, Frisell was named an inaugural Doris Duke Artist in 2012. He is also a recipient of grants from United States Artists and Meet the Composer, among others. From 2013 – 2015, Bill was Resident Artistic Director for Jazz at Lincoln Center for their Roots of Americana series, and in 2016, he was a beneficiary of the first FreshGrass Composition commission to preserve and support innovative grassroots music. Upon San Francisco Jazz opening their doors in 2013, he served as one of their Resident Artistic Directors.Bill is also the subject of a documentary film by director Emma Franz, entitled Bill Frisell: A Portrait, which examines his creative process in depth. He has also received an honorary doctorate from the Berklee College of Music.Rudy RoystonBorn in Fort Worth, Texas, and raised in Denver, Colorado, Royston has been a professional teacher, drummer and percussionist for almost twenty years. He studied classical percussion at University of Denver where earned undergraduate degrees in Music and English, and accomplished teacher certification credentials from Metropolitan State College of Denver. Rudy grew up playing drums in church, and found his voice under the auspices of Colorado’s celebrated trumpeter Ron Miles, whom Royston deems his greatest influence, and with whom Rudy has played since 1991. He has taught, recorded and performed all styles of music from Jazz to marching percussion. Since moving to Piscataway, New Jersey in 2006, Royston has completed a Masters in Music degree from Rutgers University Mason Gross School of the Arts in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and performed with many of today’s finest Jazz musicians. Polar Bear and Penguin is a charming play written and performed by John Currivan & Paul Curley for young audiences.
The tale of an unlikely encounter between a Polar Bear and a Penguin. This is the story of polar opposite characters meeting for the first time, getting to know one another and learning how to survive in a world melting beneath their feet…paws…flippers.
Paul Curley (THE DIG and Bake!) and John Currivan (The Bockety World of Henry & Bucket), bring this quirky and relevant play for young audiences to life. Award-winning director Ian Cameron (White) joins the team along with designers Ger Clancy and Sarah Jane Shiels and composer Denis Clohessy.

L’attachante pièce Polar Bear and Penguin s’adresse aux plus jeunes. Elle a été écrite par John Currivan et Paul Curley, qui en sont les comédiens.
Cette histoire raconte la rencontre improbable entre un ours blanc et un pingouin. Malgré leur caractère aux antipodes, les deux animaux apprennent à se connaître et à survivre dans un monde qui fond littéralement sous leurs pieds, leurs pattes et leurs nageoires.

Declared “the coolest rock star in the world right now,” by UNCUT magazine, Arooj Aftab has earned her position at the vanguard of creative music for her embrace of risk and nonconformity. In 2024, she released her fourth solo album, Night Reign (Verve), to universal acclaim, earning a Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Jazz Album, while the song “Raat Ki Rani” was tabbed for Best Global Music Performance.The album expands on the musical universe Aftab has created over the years. Night Reign features an all-star cast of musicians (Cautious Clay, Vijay Iyer, Elvis Costello, James Franceis, Moor Mother, Joel Ross), united beneath the steady, brilliant hand of the queen of the night. As put by the Wall Street Journal, “[Night Reign’s] beauty is self-evident, and it stands on its own” which helps explain its inclusion across so many Best of 2024 album lists.Night Reign’s predecessor, Vulture Prince, ushered Aftab into the cultural zeitgeist, including a place on President Barack Obama’s Summer 2021 playlist. Her viral cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” at age 18 aided in her passage to study jazz at Berklee College of Music in Boston, while Brooklyn, New York would be her next and most fertile workshop for creation of her genre-defying music.Over the last few years, she has delivered “rapturous performances” at major venues and international festivals including Primavera, Glastonbury, Coachella, Le Guess Who? (which she curated), and both Newport and Montreal Jazz. She has appeared on NPR’s Tiny Desk, Later with Jools Holland, Brodie and Mahogany sessions. Aftab has been featured in The New York Times, The Guardian, Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, The Financial Times, The Quietus, and Time, to name a few. She is a 2023 United States Artists Fellow and recipient of the Vilcek Prize for Creative Promise in Music.

A heartwarming story about facing anxiety and the power of friendship, 176 Steps follows two children: Octave, a remarkably talented piano player who is so afraid of the unknown that he rarely steps foot outside, and Delphine, an outdoorsy adventurer whose only fear is going to school.
When the two of them cross paths, an unlikely friendship blossoms.
Octave loves music and plays the piano wonderfully, but feels so paralyzed by fear of the unknown that he hardly ever leaves the sumptuous estate where he lives with his mother and his aunt Simone.
For Delphine, it’s just the opposite: she swims, fishes, explores, and works for her fishmonger parents when she’s not happily squabbling with her four brothers. In her eyes, life is a perpetual adventure…except at school!
One day, Delphine and Octave cross paths, and an unlikely friendship is born. Is Delphine as daring as she appears to be? What conflict in Octave’s past makes him so fearful of the outside world? Will they be able to help each other live freely at last?
A moving fable about the different faces of anxiety, 176 Steps celebrates, first and foremost, the transformative power of friendship.

La pièce 176 pas raconte une histoire émouvante sur l’anxiété et la puissance de l’amitié. Octave est un pianiste très talentueux qui a si peur de l’inconnu, qu’il met rarement un pied à l’extérieur. Delphine est une aventurière qui craint seulement d’aller à l’école.
Quand leurs chemins se croisent, une amitié improbable naît.
Octave adore la musique et joue merveilleusement bien du piano, mais se sent si paralysé par la peur de l’inconnu qu’il ne sort presque jamais du somptueux domaine où il vit avec sa mère et sa tante Simone.
Pour Delphine, c’est tout l’inverse : elle nage, pêche, explore et travaille pour ses parents poissonniers, quand elle ne se chamaille pas joyeusement avec ses quatre frères. À ses yeux, la vie est une aventure perpétuelle… sauf à l’école!
Un jour, le chemin de Delphine croise celui d’Octave, et une improbable amitié naît entre eux. Delphine est-elle aussi téméraire qu’elle en a l’air? Quelle fracture dans l’histoire d’Octave lui fait craindre à ce point le monde extérieur? Sauront-ils s’aider l’un l’autre à vivre enfin librement?

In BullyBully two world leaders meet in no man’s land. What follows is an awkward encounter between two childish yet powerful adults who gradually get used to each other and eventually learn to meet in the middle.
This is a madcap musical about childish grown-up men featuring funny quarrels, songs, a bit of bickering and, eventually, a happy ending.

Dans BullyBully, deux chefs d’État se rencontrent en terrain neutre. Il s’ensuit une rencontre maladroite entre deux puissants adultes immatures, qui s’habituent progressivement l’un à l’autre et finissent par apprendre à s’entendre.
Dans cette comédie musicale déjantée, des hommes adultes et immatures prennent part à des querelles amusantes, chantent et se chamaillent un peu. Et il en ressort une fin heureuse.
