Hailing from Boca Raton, FL, Maggie Baugh grew up studying classical music, writing songs and playing shows across Florida. At the age of 13, Baugh played the fiddle on “Devil Went Down To Georgia '' for a Charlie Daniels performance. This pivotal moment ignited a newly found love of Country Music for the young performer. Known for her viral singles including "Think About Me", and “Drinking to the Broken Hearts' ' Baugh gained her entry into the Spotify Million + Club. Baugh's social media prowess is immense. Her TikTok series, “Finish the Lick” shows off her proficiency on multiple instruments, which has garnered her more than 30 million views.
The Nashville music industry is showing its enthusiasm for her independent success, as she released her debut album, “Dear Me” this past October. The 14 song project, featured across multiple editorial playlisting including Spotify “Next From Nashville”, “New Music Friday Country”, Apple Music “New In Country”, “Fresh From Nashville” Amazon Music “Breakthrough Pop” and “Breakthrough Country” landed over 500K streams in its first day and reached #19 iTunes Country Album Charts. 
Most recently, Maggie caught the attention of Keith Urban who asked her to join him in 2024 as his utility player on tour.  In the past year, Maggie has appeared on CMT Awards, Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, the Today Show and performed on stages from the Country Music Hall of Fame to Nissan Stadium. Canadian musician and instrument maker, Teilhard (tay-YAR) Frost specialises in traditional folk music with a focus on Appalachian old time music. 
He has spent the last twenty years touring with the sensational rag-time outfit Sheesham, Lotus, and ‘Son. Teilhard teamed up with Jason Mercer to record The Os project, a banjo & Saxophone based dance album. Frost & Mercer are also touring a new show, MojoBanjo, which is a loose musical history of the banjo. In 2020-24 Teilhard recorded and toured The Complete Recordings of Hezekiah Proctor with L'il Andy, Sam Allison and Brian Sanderson. Teilhard has also recorded and toured with Michael Duguay, Jenny Whiteley, Joey Wright, Chris Coole, and Michael Jerome Browne and done studio session work on over 75 albums and film scores. In the spring of 2024 he released his latest album Four and Twenty Blackbirds Dancing on a Deerskin, which includes players Tom Power, Scott Prouty, Chris Coole, and Jason Mercer.

Since releasing their critically acclaimed self-titled debut album in August 2023, the pair have navigated life on the road without missing a beat. Minor Gold have had a massive 18 months, with highlights including touring North America and Australia twice, official showcases at Folk Alliance International (USA), AmericanaFEST (USA), Folk Music Ontario (CAN) and Your Roots are Showing (IE), major festival appearances and supports for legendary Australian band The Teskey Brothers in the U.S.
Recent winners of the 'Folk Award' in the Queensland Music Awards, Minor Gold's songs have had multiple adds to high rotation on radio in Australia and charted in the Top 10 on the NACC in the U.S. – there is much love for this charmed duo who keep delivering the goods. While touring North America in 2024, the pair took a short break in July to record their sophomore album in Los Angeles with producer Dan Horne (Mapache, Cass McCombs, Circles Around the Sun). Excited by the results, this new music is due for release in early 2025, but not before they tour the UK/EU for the first time in Jan/Feb with an appearance at Strib Winter Festival in Denmark.

Minor Gold

Join is again this St. Patrick's Day for a performance by Kelly Sloan and JIG. 
Kelly Sloan, the wonderful singer originally from Almonte, will be joining JIG for an evening of Irish music and song.  Kelly is now based in Toronto and has had a long and successful career performing and recording her own original songs, and that have been played many times on CBC radio.  However, her family and valley roots are rich in the Irish tradition.  Kelly has performed her Irish repertoire at Almonte’s Celtfest, and on multiple St. Patrick’s Days among others, and will be singing a choice selection of Irish ballads accompanied by JIG, who will also play instrumental selections of jigs, reels, polkas and more, from the Irish tradition.
The three members of JIG are among the best players of traditional celtic music in the region.  Those of you who know the local scene will already be familiar with the playing of James Stephens (fiddle/mandolin/ cittern), Ian Clark (guitar), and Greg Brown (fiddle/concertina, bouzouki). 
Get ready for a great night of real Irish folk music!

Join us for an evening  of Celtic Music played by some of the best in the region. There will be a concert from 8pm to 10pm, with a jam to follow, so bring your instruments and get in on the fun.

Atlantic Firth
Karen Steven & Alastair MacDonald both hail from the far North of Scotland, where they grew up learning in the company of some well-known musicians such as Addie Harper (of The Wick Scottish Dance Band), Bobby Coghill and Ian Sinclair who led the folk group, Mirk.  The twinning of the Scottish Highlands with Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, in 1986, resulted in the two travelling to Cape Breton as part of a 3-week tour with high school group, The Caithness Junior Fiddlers.
 Scholarships to attend The Valley of the Moon fiddle camp in California, USA followed. It was there, KAREN was introduced to the phenomenal playing and teaching of; Alasdair Fraser, Buddy MacMaster, Martin Hayes (Ireland) and Mairead Ni Mhaonaigh (Altan).  A 1997 scholarship from The Cross Trust, enabled Karen to return to Canada to carry out the research for her degree dissertation. Other opportunities have included, playing for former president of the USA, Bill Clinton, at Carnegie’s Skibo Castle in Scotland and teaching at Norway's mid-winter dance festival, Trondheim. Teaching opportunities followed, alongside Alasdair Fraser, at Celtic Connections festival, Glasgow and Sabhal Mòr Ostaig, Isle of Skye, as well as many appearances at The NAFCo festivals over the years.
Karen has a strong, rhythmic style of fiddle playing, influenced by her highland dance training.  She enjoys writing music for and playing for many Scottish dance styles including; Scottish Country dance, highland dance, highland dance choreography, stepdance and ceilidh dancing.
 ALASTAIR played regularly for dances across Scotland and the North of England with Addie Harper’s Scottish Dance Band for many years, but more recently supporting Scottish accordion champion, Brandon McPhee – on concert tours and CD recordings.  Since 2018, Alastair has been based in the Ottawa Valley region of Ontario, where he has collaborated with local band, Traditional Fare.  The band released their debut album in 2023, featuring 13 instrumental tracks on accordion, fiddle and bagpipes.
 In addition to playing accordion, Alastair has also been known to turn his hand to keyboards and piano playing.  He has a keen interest in sound engineering and collaborated with Karen back in 2021/2022 in the making of an international recording which was a fundraiser for a children’s hospital in Glasgow.  38 musicians from 4 countries took part in the project which raised $2000 for the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity.
 
Together, Karen and Alastair play a range of music influenced by their Scottish roots –strathspeys, reels, jigs, marches and airs – Scottish – Canadian – self composed, contemporary and traditional tunes.
 
IAN CLARK(guitar):  Originally from Scotland but living now in Ottawa, Ian has been accompanying traditional celtic music for over 25 years.  He plays concerts with folk and celtic performers and has made a number of commercial recordings with a variety of ensembles.  Since the Fall of 2022, Ian has been collaborating with Alastair & Karen, for concert sets as well as with their Scottish dance band, Atlantic Firth, for Scottish country dance events, in and around Ottawa and The Valley.
 
JOHN MITCHELL(piano): Karen & Alastair first met John, when he accompanied fiddler Anna Ludlow at a Red Bird Live show in 2022.  John is no stranger to the music performance scene and appears regularly at Ontario Fiddle & Stepdance contests, either as house pianist for competitors or competing on fiddle. John’s rhythmic approach to accompaniment suits the band’s style perfectly.  John describes his playing as one hand Cape Breton style, the other hand Ottawa Valley.
Atlantic Firth will have copies of their recently released album of Scottish country dance music available at the concert.  Don’t miss it!

Richard Bona is a Grammy-winning musician, one of the most accomplished international bass players, composers and multi-instrumentalists. With his unique sound and vocal gift he is continuously representing his African origins. Bona’s music addresses the continent’s traditions, culture, beauty and issues. His purpose, and the way he connects with his audience has turned him into a staple name in world, jazz and Afropop music.He is currently producing and recording for Latin and Brazilian artists in the realm of pop, Brazilian songbook, Flamenco and Caribbean music.Richard Bona has toured, composed, recorded, and created musical forms of art with the greatest: Herbie Hancock, Harry Belafonte, Steps Ahead, Quincy Jones, Chick Corea, Buena Vista Social Club, Cesária Évora, Sting, Mike Stern, Pat Metheny, Stevie Wonder, Bobby McFerrin, Chucho Valdés, George Benson, Oumou Sangaré and many more. Bill FrisellBill Frisell’s career as a guitarist and composer has spanned more than 40 years and many celebrated recordings, whose catalog has been cited by Downbeat as “the best recorded output of the decade”.Grammy nominated, his latest recording is entitled Orchestras released April 2024 on Blue Note. In the trio format he’s favored throughout his career, the guitarist and composer has always projected an orchestral scope — through his remarkably complete sense of harmony, a unique gift for melodies that remain with you long after a performance, and a keen feel for how dynamic range can be used to convey emotion. But on his new double album, his fourth release for Blue Note Records, he makes those symphonic evocations a reality. Produced by Lee Townsend, Orchestras documents two inspired concert-hall engagements arranged by Michael Gibbs for Frisell’s long-standing trio with bassist Thomas Morgan and drummer Rudy Royston: one featuring the nearly 60-piece Brussels Philharmonic, conducted by Alexander Hanson; and one with the 11-piece Umbria Jazz Orchestra, under the musical direction of Manuele Morbidini.In March 2022, a biography on Frisell, entitled Beautiful Dreamer – The Guitarist Who Changed The Sound of American Music, written by Philip Watson was published by Faber and released in the UK, Europe, South, Central America & Asia. Through unprecedented access, and interviews with his close family, friends and collaborators, Philip Watson tells the story of the innovative and influential guitarist and composer. From 2013 – 2015, Bill was Resident Artistic Director for Jazz at Lincoln Center for their Roots of Americana series, and in 2016, he was a beneficiary of the first FreshGrass Composition commission to preserve and support innovative grassroots music. Upon San Francisco Jazz opening their doors in 2013, he served as one of their Resident Artistic Directors.Bill is also the subject of a documentary film by director Emma Franz, entitled Bill Frisell: A Portrait, which examines his creative process in depth. He has also received an honorary doctorate from the Berklee College of Music.Rudy RoystonBorn in Fort Worth, Texas, and raised in Denver, Colorado, Royston has been a professional teacher, drummer and percussionist for almost twenty years. On Home is a 50-minute interdisciplinary contemporary dance performance, exploring the journey of losing, seeking, and finding home.
This new work, collaboratively choreographed by the Voices Dance Project’s eight dancers, centers freedom and control, comfort and discomfort, displacement and rootedness, belonging and alienation to ask audiences: How do we reconcile our feelings of comfort and belonging in a place that is no longer safe for us? When we lose all that we know, how do we build again? Who are we when we emerge from the journey of leaving, seeking and finding home? What identities do we shed? What remains of us?
On Home is set to an original score by Ottawa-based composer Jack Hui Litster, performed live by Jack Hui Litster (percussion, electronics), Michelle Gott (harp), and Kathryn Patricia Cobbler (looping viola). It is the Voices Dance Project’s second full-length performance since its debut in October 2023.

Declared “the coolest rock star in the world right now,” by UNCUT magazine, Arooj Aftab has earned her position at the vanguard of creative music for her embrace of risk and nonconformity. In 2024, she released her fourth solo album, Night Reign (Verve), to universal acclaim, earning a Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Jazz Album, while the song “Raat Ki Rani” was tabbed for Best Global Music Performance.The album expands on the musical universe Aftab has created over the years. Night Reign features an all-star cast of musicians (Cautious Clay, Vijay Iyer, Elvis Costello, James Franceis, Moor Mother, Joel Ross), united beneath the steady, brilliant hand of the queen of the night. As put by the Wall Street Journal, “[Night Reign’s] beauty is self-evident, and it stands on its own” which helps explain its inclusion across so many Best of 2024 album lists.Night Reign’s predecessor, Vulture Prince, ushered Aftab into the cultural zeitgeist, including a place on President Barack Obama’s Summer 2021 playlist. Recognition for the record propelled her to a Best New Artist Grammy nomination in 2022 and a win for the song “Mohabbat.” The following year she collaborated with Vijay Iyer and Shahzad Ismaily on a “masterclass in space,” the improvisational Love in Exile (Verve 2023), also Grammy nominated and winner of a 2023 Edison Jazz award.Aftab spent her adolescent years in Lahore, Pakistan, the birthplace of her music-loving parents. Her viral cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” at age 18 aided in her passage to study jazz at Berklee College of Music in Boston, while Brooklyn, New York would be her next and most fertile workshop for creation of her genre-defying music.Over the last few years, she has delivered “rapturous performances” at major venues and international festivals including Primavera, Glastonbury, Coachella, Le Guess Who? (which she curated), and both Newport and Montreal Jazz. She has appeared on NPR’s Tiny Desk, Later with Jools Holland, Brodie and Mahogany sessions. Aftab has been featured in The New York Times, The Guardian, Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, The Financial Times, The Quietus, and Time, to name a few. She is a 2023 United States Artists Fellow and recipient of the Vilcek Prize for Creative Promise in Music.

This is the new date (rescheduled from March 1), and it is now a Mia Kelly Solo Show. 
 
Two of the finest songwriters on the contemporary singer songwriter scene join forces for reciprocal tours. Five special nights of UK touring followed by five nights in Canada.
In an exciting transatlantic collaboration, alt-folk Canadian Mia Kelly and British singer-songwriter Blair Dunlop will embark on a series of intimate performances in the winter of 2025.  Having met in Kansas City in 2023 Blair Dunlop and Mia Kelly found an instant connection through their songwriting.  This led to them co-writing Mia’s single – Meaning Well, a standout track from her sophomore album “To Be Clear” released in October 2024.
On the heels of the emergence of this song, and with mutual interest to continue touring in each other’s countries, Blair invited Mia as special guest for five intimate shows in the UK in February 2025.  Mia returns the favour as they tour Ontario a few weeks later.
Through the lush folk and earthy Americana of her sophomore record To Be Clear, Mia Kelly establishes herself as a spellbinding voice, blurring the lines between intimate memoir and compelling semi-fictional narratives.
Mia KellyPerforming in both French and English, Kelly enthrals listeners with a distinctive blend of Folk, Rock, and Blues.  Recently awarded Young Performer of the Year and Emerging Artist of the Year at the 2024 Canadian Folk Music Awards, Kelly is swiftly gaining recognition as a poetic lyricist and is making her mark in the Canadian folk music scene. 
Blair Dunlop is an award-winning British singer-songwriter and guitarist, who has released 5 albums, 2 EPs and toured around the globe. Blair burst onto the scene with his debut album ‘Blight & Blossom’ in 2012, showcasing virtuosic musicianship and lyrical maturity, and was awarded a prestigious BBC Folk Award in the wake of its release. A string of critically acclaimed albums followed, along with headline tours and festival appearances in the UK, Europe, North America and Australia. ‘Gilded’ and ‘Notes from an Island’ were released on his own label and singles ‘The Egoist’ and ‘356’ received national playlist status on BBC Radio 2. Following this, ‘Trails: Queensland’ (2021), Blair’s first live album, documented a tour of rural Australia, playing for isolated communities. From Glastonbury to Tuscany, Queensland to Palestine, Blair has brought his musicality and storytelling to audiences young and old. Album five, Out of the Rain, released on 24th May 2024 and consolidated Blairs place in the UK Singer Songwriter sector.

Ready to defy gravity and move through the air with power, precision, and flow? This workshop is designed for aerialists looking to sharpen their dynamic technique on rope, silks, trapeze, and hoop!
What to expect?

Enhance your tempos, releases, transitions, drops, and exits.
Unlock the secrets of fundamental physics to make your movement more efficient and effortless.
Learn smart skill progressions so you can train confidently on your own.
Discover key floor exercises to build strength and control in the muscle groups that matter most.

Whether you’re looking to refine your technique or add some serious WOW factor to your movement, this workshop will give you the tools to level up. 
 
Prerequisites: Ages 14+ with aerial experience and the ability to climb on a hoop without assistance, be able to do knee hang beats and have good grip endurance. 
 
Instructor Bio
A 2nd generation circus artist, Chloé began her circus career in 2001 alongside her father. Her multiple trainings in circus, dance, gymnastics and acting have led her to perform both in Quebec and internationally, notably on German wheel, aerial silks, hoop, Cyr wheel and clown character. 
In parallel with her career as an artist, Chloé has worked in multiple contemporary and social circus schools and organizations since 2011. She teaches German wheel, floor acrobatics, silks, hoop, Cyr wheel and several other disciplines. She In 2021, she obtained her Circus Arts Trainer diploma from the École Nationale de Cirque de Montréal. She now teaches at the Formation Supérieure de l’École de Cirque de Québec. Chloé is constantly looking for new experiences to refine her knowledge and push her students to their maximum potential, in a human and inclusive approach.
