On Saturday June 7th Ottawa native Brian Patafie will be coming to Shoeless Joes in Bellville with his FUNNY AS PUCK show 2025. Just four years ago Brian finished a forty four year career as an athletic trainer in professional hockey including almost twenty years with the Calgary Flames. He also spent two years in Frankfurt Germany with the Lowen Frankfurt (Frankfurt Lions). Brian kept notes and following his hockey career he turned those notes into a standup comedy routine and has shared not only his hockey stories but his dysfunctional life stories all across North America as well as on a multi city multi show tour of the United Kingdom back in October of 2022. Brian was asked by Ken Reid on Sportsnet why he left the Flames back in 1999 and Brian's trademark reply was "medical reasons....management got sick of me!" Brian will be joined by Ottawa comedians Chris Connolly and Chad Noonan. Don't miss the opportunity to see one of the most charismatic and entertaining figures from the world of professional hockey share his life on stage.

Fly back in time to discover the fascinating history of 1 of 17 WWII Lancaster Bombers remaining in the world this February! Starting on the hour every hour, take a guided 45-minute tour of the exterior of Lancaster Bomber KB 882 with our Museum Curator, Madeline Smolarz who will share unforgettable stories from the aircraft’s 81-year life in the historic setting of Base31’s Hangar 1. Warm complimentary non-alcoholic refreshments will be served and the space will have provisional heat, but we recommend dressing for the outdoor temperature to ensure your comfort.
This special event is offered as part of the County Museums’ Flashback February initiative. Back for its 8th year, the Flashback February celebrates the rich history of Prince Edward County with a multitude of workshops, talks, open houses, and more all month long.

Base31 is proud to host a celebration of the remarkable artistic achievements of renowned Mohawk artist David R. Maracle. This Celebration will not only showcase David's illustrious musical career, but will also feature "special" guest appearances,  and the launch of his very first limited-edition red/orange vinyl album, “The Path to Totality”, that honours the Indigenous children who were sent to residential schools. Additionally,  David will unveil his first-ever coffee table book—a retrospective of his poetry and artistic life, entitled "Elemental Daydreamer"

About David .R Maracle: 
David R. Maracle, Bear Clan, Tehanenia’kwè:tarons - (Cutter of the Stone) has been crafting his artistry since 1985, from his home community of Kenhtè:ke Kanyen’kehá:ka-Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory. Through his magnificent prize-winning stone sculptures, musical compilations and all aspects of his entrepreneurial ventures as a business owner on his Indigenous Territory, David brings to life the ancestral teachings of the Haudenosaunee People.
David’s Originals in Stone sculptures are celebrated worldwide, with many corporations and private collectors owning his work, including the estate of the late Nelson Mandela, the Emperor of Japan, Dan Aykroyd and Loretta Lynn. 
In addition to being  a world-renowned sculptor of stone, David is also an international award-winning multi-instrumentalist, musician, poet, composer and producer who has released over 18 musical compilations and scores for various award-winning documentaries during his multifaceted career. To date, David has received two Gold Records from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for his world fusion ambient melodies of the Iroquoian Love Flute and his personal collection of rare world instruments.

The 170-seat Sergeants Mess Hall at Base31 is the newest performance venue to open in Prince Edward County. This architectural gem has been renovated and repurposed as a unique and intimate concert venue, featuring state-of-the art sound and lighting, with its original historic charm and character retained. The Sergeants Mess Hall has a rich history dating back to its construction in 1939. The building was originally built as a mess hall for the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) No. 31 Bombing and Gunnery School during World War II. During the war, the building served as a gathering place for the sergeants who were stationed at the base. It was a place where they could relax, eat meals, and socialize with their fellow soldiers. After the war, the base was decommissioned and the building served a variety of purposes over the years, including as a community centre, a school, and a storage facility.
