ABOUT MO KENNEY:  
On their fifth studio album, From Nowhere, Mo Kenney embraces the textures of ambiguity and the rich blur of being, failing, and becoming. As they shift through lush arrangements that touch on dreamy folk, sparse alt-country, and warm, hazed-out lo-fi pop, everything is up for interpretation and nothing is fixed. In their lyrics, Kenney opts instead to defy definition, making room for non-linear and fragmentary sentiments that challenge their own feelings about personal growth, acknowledge the slippery and shadowy nature of memory, and build love songs that conjure the bonds of friendship just as much as they hint at romance.   
They evade easiness right from the start in the glowing chorus of opening track "Bad Times," admitting, over sparse piano and despite 4 years of sobriety: "I know it ain't right, but I miss the bad times sometimes."  
"I sort of thought that getting sober was going to fix all my problems with relationships, and then I would just be fine," Kenney laughs. "Drinking was causing all the issues I was having, but it was just the tip of the iceberg; quitting made all my problems more clear but didn't resolve any of them."  
Kenney's subsequent investigations into the root causes of their interpersonal dramas obscured nearly as much as they revealed, encouraging acceptance but also emphasizing the frequently frustrating uncertainty and temporality of things. From Nowhere occupies that liminal and trepidatious time when one is compelled to move but unsure where they might be headed. The driving "Evening Dream" has all the hallmarks of a post-summer come-down as Kenney reminisces about the nebulous feelings of flings: "Bathing in the pale green light, no thought of what goes on outside," they sing. "No thought of what it all might mean, it doesn’t have to mean a thing." On the darker sounding "Signs of Life," they address an unbearable and obscure fissure; with the title track, they recall a loss of innocence in idyllic rural Nova Scotia, mixing sun-kissed organ with cryptic, unsettling choruses.   
With the stark and devastating pairing of "Honey Come Home" and "Self Doubt," Kenney makes it clear that there's no glory or revelation in sitting with your feelings. While the former distills the loneliness and alienation of a partner's absence, the latter finds Kenney struggling with the crippling second-guessing that can accompany certain acute kinds of clarity as they barely raise their voice above a whisper in what sounds like the saddest honky-tonk on Earth. Through the hazy atmospheres of "That's Not Me," they conjure a slow motion crawl through a dim club and question their identity. And the similarly unhurried "With You" delivers a crushing post-mortem about a relationship that, despite its sweetness, just didn't work.  
From Nowhere's intimate subject matter was handled with deft hands by some of Kenney's nearest and dearest collaborators—Joel Plaskett, Rose Cousins, Victoria Cameron, Siobhan Martin, and Jordan Murphy—and recorded, mixed, and engineered by Thomas Stajcer at Plaskett's Fang Studios in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.   
In contrast to its heavy predecessors, the airy "Love You Better" offers a featherweight finale to From Nowhere; in earthy reverie, Kenney acknowledges their past failures and that they're not always going to get it right, but resolves to do the only thing they can: keep trying. "Staring at the ceiling, trying to find the meaning," they sing over eddying acoustic guitar. "Put it all together; I will love you better."  
ABOUT MARISSA BURWELL:
Marissa Burwell makes music that is part back-seat-of-the-minivan crooner, part blow-out-the-speakers indie-rock. Burwell’s latest EP Either Way (2023), features the clearest synthesis of Burwell’s spectrum of musical sensibilities with moments of thick harmonies wrapped around guitars and gentle drum beats while other moments showcase cathartic bursts of alternative rock, erupting in dizzying crescendos of hammering pianos.

Classified attended Hants East Rural High in Milford, Nova Scotia. He started his own production label, Half Life Records, and released his first full length LP called Time's Up, Kid in 1995. After years of working on music and sorting through label contracts, Classified produced, recorded and released his ninth album, Trial & Error, and signed a nationwide distribution deal with Toronto-based, URBNET Records. Containing collaborations with up-and-coming Canadian artists like Eternia and DL Incognito, as well as Canadian rap veteran, Maestro, the album was one of the highest selling independent rap albums in Canada in 2004.In addition to the release of Trial & Error, 2003 and 2004 were busy and evolutionary years for Classified. With the continuous support of VideoFACT, he was able to release two additional music videos for the singles "Just the Way It Is" and "Unexpected". Classified also continued to master his production skills and joined forces with some of Canada's most prominent emcees, including Choclair and Maestro Fresh Wes. He also teamed up with Shady Records recording artist, Royce Da 5'9" and opened for Ludacris, Snoop dogg, Busta Rhymes, The Game, Nelly, MC Grizzly, Captain Capota, Nas, The Black Eyed Peas and Black Moon.
Classified's tenth album, Boy-Cott-In the Industry, was a high point in his career. The album includes guest appearances by Choclair, Royce Da 5'9", Jay Bizzy, J-Bru, A-Wall, Spesh K, and Mic Boyd (Classified's younger brother and fellow MC). He has said he enjoys doing music with other people: "It keeps things exciting and there are tons of talented people in Halifax so you make connections 'cause it's not a huge scene." The album reached #46 on SoundScan's Canadian R&B/Hip-Hop albums chart. The singles "The Maritimes", "5th Element", "No Mistakes", and "Find Out", which is the lead single of his 11th studio album, Hitch Hikin' Music, were all Top 20 hits on MuchMusic and MTV Canada that year. The music video for "No Mistakes" won him an MMVA for MuchVibe Best Rap Video. Boy-Cott-In the Industry also earned Classified a Juno Award nomination for Rap Recording of the Year in 2006.
Riding high off of Boy-Cott-In the Industry, Classified released his eleventh album Hitch Hikin' Music. Produced like previous albums by Classified himself, it is arguably some of Classified's finest work. On "Fall From Paradise", Classified reflects on the difficulty of staying fresh and on top. In the hip-hop meets classic rock song "All About U", featuring singer Chad Hatcher, Classified shows the extent of his growth from his early releases. In "Hip Hop Star", he eschews the current bling-bling culture of popular hip hop to remind people that life is not about trying to impress others. The rest of the album includes guest appearances by Jay Bizzy, Mic Boyd, Jordan Croucher, Preacher K, White Mic and more. Four singles have been released off the album: "Find Out" (which won the 2007 East Coast Music Award for Best Rap/Hip-Hop Single), "Feelin' Fine Remix", "All About U", and "Hard to Be Hip Hop". Hitch Hikin' Music also received a Juno Award nomination for Rap Recording of the Year in 2007.
Classified enlisted the help of fellow Nova Scotia native Joel Roy to beatbox during some of his songs. The actual singles that Roy beatboxed for are unknown but it is believed that he can be heard in the single "The Maritimes".
In early 2009, the hit single "Anybody Listening" brought Classified to mainstream success as it peaked at #52 on the Canadian Hot 100 and the music video received heavy rotation on MuchMusic. Classified's thirteenth studio album, Self Explanatory received highly positive reviews from the critics and debuted on the Canadian Albums Chart at #25 making it Classified's first album on that chart. At the 2009 MuchMusic Video Awards on May 21, 2009, Classified won the MuchVibe "Best Hip-Hop Video of the Year" award for "Anybody Listening" directed by Harv Glazer and produced by Robert Wilson of TwoThreeFiveFilms. Off Self Explanatory, Classified would enjoy more mainstream success in early 2010 with another hit single, "Oh…Canada" peaking at #14 on the Canadian Hot 100 and was certified platinum in digital downloads by the CRIA. Also in early 2010, Classified received three Juno Award nominations, which was for Rap Recording of the Year, Single of the Year, and Video of the Year. In early 2011, "Oh…Canada" received a Juno nomination for "Single of the Year".
On March 22, 2011, Classified released his fourteenth album, though it was only his second major studio album, Handshakes and Middle Fingers. The first single off the album, "That Ain't Classy" reached #45 on the Canadian Hot 100. The album debuted at #7 on the Canadian Albums Chart, making it his highest charting album to date.

Medi Pedi Footcare is looking at  setting up a drop in/walk in Footcare day for those in need the most! My hope is to be able to offer this one day a month where I can work with the community in giving back and providing Footcare services, as well as help support with educating on foot health and prevention of foot-related ailments.
Funds raised from this charity event will go towards providing essential footcare services, socks, and other supplies such as foot hygiene products, comfortable footwear, and insoles for those in need, whom may not have the funds to do so on their own.

 In collaboration with The 525's Curatorial Director Rowen Dinsmore and their first-ever Guest Curator, photographer Molly Schikosky, the organization is curating a group exhibition titled "Unbecoming." This exhibition delves into the diverse experiences and perspectives of womanhood across generations, featuring works by 10 women-identified artists: Leo Lauren Conquergood, Hannah Alex, Xiao Han, Berit Johnson, Emily Johnson, Mona Khan, Molly Schikosky, Darby Sutherland, Tammy Zunich, and Emma Zuck.
Unbecoming:
"Unbecoming" challenges and reclaims the phrase weaponized against women that to be a woman and act a certain way can be viewed as "unbecoming," and also references the idea of unpacking and unravelling generational impact left on women by women. Central to this exhibition are themes of evolving womanhood across generations, everyday moments that shape and celebrate female experiences, diverse expressions of femininity, and personal narratives that reveal intimate, transformative stories of empowerment.

Cadence Weapon is Edmonton-born, Hamilton-based rapper, producer, writer and poet Rollie Pemberton. His 2021 album Parallel World won Canada’s Polaris Music Prize.
The son of a pioneering hip-hop radio DJ, Pemberton grew up around a diverse library of music. Splitting his time between Edmonton’s experimental electronic and underground rap scenes as a teenager, Pemberton eventually developed a hybrid of both styles. Cadence Weapon has released six albums, five of which have been nominated for the Polaris Music Prize, with Breaking Kayfabe (2006) and Hope In Dirt City (2012) and Parallel World (2021) being shortlist nominees. Pemberton has toured extensively following the success of these albums, playing festivals like Glastonbury, Lollapalooza, Pitchfork Music Festival, Roskilde and Primavera Sound and performing shows with artists such as Public Enemy, Diplo, Questlove, De La Soul and many more.
Pemberton’s music is known for pairing groundbreaking production with incisive, socially conscious lyricism. Pemberton served as Poet Laureate of Edmonton from 2009 to 2011, making him the literary ambassador of his hometown. His poem “The Garden” was incorporated into a bronze sculpture at the Alberta Legislature Grounds in Edmonton in 2018. Pemberton was the narrator and a writer for the VICELAND television series PAYDAY and Mister Tachyon and he has hosted lectures and conducted live interviews for CBC q and Red Bull Music Academy. Pemberton’s memoir called Bedroom Rapper was published by McClelland & Stewart in May 2022 and his newest album ROLLERCOASTER was released on April 19, 2024.

Throughout their 20 years as a band, One Bad Son has been a staple on the Canadian rock scene, weathering the ebbs and flows of the ever-changing rock landscape by doing one thing well: writing music that matters to them, regardless of trends.
 
“We've been incredibly lucky. We've followed our own compass, and the fans have been with us every step of the way,” says singer Shane Connery Volk.
 
Over the course of five albums, sixteen singles and dozens of tours throughout Canada, the US and Europe, the band has eschewed trends while remaining on the cutting edge of modern rock and gaining a legion of devoted fans along the way.
 
The band achieved their first number one single on Canadian Rock Radio with the anthemic 2017 single, Raging Bull. The song stayed at the top of the charts for four weeks and was followed by an extensive Canada/US tour which culminated in OBS being selected to share the bill with The Rolling Stones in front of 70,000 fans as part of the Stones' No Filter tour.
Then the pandemic hit. OBS hit a crossroads that almost ended their career. Guitarist and founding member Adam Hicks left the band, leaving fellow founding members Volk and drummer Kurt Dahl to ponder their future as a group.
 
“If I’m being honest…for a year or two, we forgot how to write songs together,” says Dahl. “Maybe we had to heal the relationship between us. Maybe we had to heal our relationship with the great song writing gods in the sky. Whatever the case – we did it. And then the songs started flowing like never before.”
 
With the help of Kittie guitarist Tara McLeod and Alberta music scene legend Ryan Kuly on bass, the band started working on new songs with producer Brian Moncarz.
 
“OBS is more than just a band to us. It’s been the most incredible musical outlet for KD and I for almost 20 years,” says Volk. “There was just no way we were going to give it up! Writing and recording these new songs has been the best experience I’ve ever had in music. I can’t wait for our fans to finally hear what we’ve been up to!”
 
With a new album in the works, One Bad Son is writing the best songs of their career, tackling real topics such as mortality, mental health and the state of the world. “There's so much to write about and we have a lot left to say. In many ways, we're just getting started here,” says Volk.
 
One thing is certain: One Bad Son shows no signs of slowing down. “I feel like we've caught a second wind right now and it's such a gift,” says Dahl. “In the studio and on stage, we haven’t had this much fun since the early days. Whatever that magic is that we have – between the two of us and with our fans – it's never been stronger.”

Doors 7PM VIP / 8PM General AdmissionShow 9pmWhen Jeremie Albino was a teenager, he started busking around Toronto, setting up along the boardwalk or on a street corner downtown, wherever he thought he might find some passersby. “Usually nobody was listening,” he says, “but occasionally one or two people would tell me it sounded great. They had places to be and things to do, but they would stop and listen for a little while. That kind of interaction felt very special to me, and that’s when I realized I really do love performing. That’s when I realized I could hold a listener’s interest and give something back to them.”
That experience set Albino on his path, and it showed him how much joy can be found in the simple act of connecting with a listener, whether it’s an entire crowd or just one person in that crowd. Since then, he has refined a vital and idiosyncratic mix of styles and sounds that are rooted in tradition but grasping toward the future: His songs are grounded in the gritty storytelling of classic country music, propelled by the rhythms of old-school R&B, played with the wild abandon of early rock ’n’ roll, and sung with the deep feeling of southern soul. Thanks to his sweaty, livewire concerts, he has been steadily growing his audience from a few passersby to packed houses around Canada and the U.S. Our Time In The Sun, his soulful fourth solo album, sounds like the culmination of what he started out on the street corners of Toronto.
The title track showcases his remarkable range—emotionally, vocally, and stylistically. Anchored in a Stax rhythm section and punctuated with dramatic horns, it’s a dusty country-soul number about good love curdling into bad, but there’s none of the romantic recrimination that infects so many breakup songs. Rather, in his performance as much as in his lyrics, Albino conveys a warm generosity toward somebody who tried just as hard as he did to make it work. He’s the rare singer who’s always in the moment, taking nothing about the song or the melody or the lyrics for granted. And he brings the listener right into the moment with him. “I try to put my heart into everything,” he says. “There’s really no other way for me to do it. If I’m not putting everything into the song, then why would I even bother to sing it?”
As much as he loves performing and winning over listeners, Albino by his own admission has never felt that same connection to songwriting, but he made a breakthrough on Our Time in the Sun. Working with producer Dan Auerbach, he emerges as a sharp, observant songwriter who is quick with a clever turn of phrase and open to the emotional nuance of the stories he’s telling on “I Don’t Mind Waiting” and the raw “Struggling With The Bottle.” “I used to struggle with writing. Okay, I used to hate it. Whenever I needed to write new songs, I would just sit there for months toiling away.” When he signed with Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound label, however, they spent hours and hours bouncing ideas off one another, their sessions becoming a masterclass on how to write a good, solid song.
