John Randle:
John Randle spent 11 seasons with the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings from 1990-2000. He played 14 NFL seasons in total, ending his career with the Seattle Seahawks in 2003. One of the most popular Vikings during his days in Minnesota, Randle’s fierce style of play and emotional leadership were hallmarks of hiscareer. Randle came to the Vikings in 1990 as an undrafted rookie free agent from Division II Texas A&I. In 1991, he cracked the starting lineup and he went on to start 150 of the 176 career games he played. Randle led or tied for the team lead 9 times in his 11 Vikings seasons and had 10+ sacks in 8 straight seasonsfrom 1993-2000. Randle's 114 career sacks ranks 3rd all-time in Vikings history and ranks as the most by a DT. Randle started for the NFC in 6 straight Pro Bowls while with the Vikings and went to the Pro Bowl in 2001 as a Seahawk. He was named to the NFL Team of the Decade for the 1990s. Randle was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame for his Texas A&I career. The Vikings honored him in 2008 with induction into its Ring of Honor. He received the highest accolade of his NFL career in 2010 when he became a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

We are committed to creating a vibrant and inclusive space that celebrates Chinatown's rich history and culture while facilitating discussions reflecting the past, rethinking the present, and imagining the future of Chinatown for all Saskatoonians.

Whether you're looking for a date night or out on the town as a single person, this show's got jokes for you. Join Comedians Shawn Cuthand and Shy Sapp as they joke about relationships and everything in between. Shawn Cuthand is a nehiyaw (Cree) and kanien'keha:ka (Mohawk) comedian, writer and actor based in Treaty 6 Territory with roots in Little Pine First Nation and Akwesasne Mohawk Nation. He has been doing stand up for 6 years and is known for his silly humour. Shawn is also a part of The Feather News on APTN Lumi which will be releasing their new series in 2025. 
Shy Sapp is a captivating Nehiyaw comedian, actor, and writer from Little Pine First Nation, Saskatchewan. She stars in the #1 hit CTV sitcom Acting Good, nominated for Best Comedic Ensemble at the 2024 Canadian Screen Awards. Known for her sharp humor and charismatic presence, Shy has toured across Canada and the U.S., leaving audiences in stitches along the way. Shawn and Shy have also taken their comedy to the Vancouver Fringe this past September where they showcased themselves as well as the local Indigenous stand up comedy community. They will also be joined by host Danny Knight, who is also part of The Feather News as well as some special guests. Don't miss this hilarious evening in Saskatoon's Green Room!

Info about the artist: Sammy Lee Folkersen is a multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter hailing from Saskatoon Saskatchewan. Best known as a member of Saskatchewan raised touring band “Bombargo”, Sammy has spent most of his time in recent years on stages across the United States. His influence is rooted deeply in the blues as well as the pop/rock fusion of the 60s & 70s. Performing professionally since a young age, it seems that there are no limitations when it comes to the music that Sammy Lee creates and performs. Whether he is down south with Bombargo on a North American tour, or entertaining crowds with his immense skills as a blues guitarist, this young multi-instrumentalist brings a certain vintage style of energy to any stage he finds himself on.

A mechanical voice crackles through the loudspeaker: “The next stop is… your tiny, stupid little worthless life.”
This is Metro—a dark, gritty ride through rebellion, duality, and self-discovery… and The Blue Stones’ boldest album yet.
The Blue Stones—vocalist and guitarist Tarek Jafar and drummer Justin Tessier—formed during their university days, inspired by the freedom of creating without boundaries. They grew from playing small-town bars to headlining iconic venues like The Troubadour in Los Angeles, Electric Ballroom in London, and The Danforth Music Hall in Toronto. Along the way, they’ve racked up over 300 million streams, three JUNO nominations, and radio hits like Shakin’ Off the Rust, which topped Rock charts in Canada and hit #5 on U.S. Mainstream Rock.
METRO – the band’s fourth full-length LP – takes that ethos even further. The album follows a protagonist navigating a dystopian subway, confronting a personified version of their darker side—a manifestation of their buried need for authenticity. “The subway is a metaphor for the conflict we all face,” says Tarek. “It’s about balancing societal expectations with your own self-serving desires.” The loudspeaker’s voice, eerie and detached, becomes the protagonist’s inner critic, a manifestation of societal pressure that feels alien yet inescapable.
Tracks like “Your Master” and “Kill Box” burn with snarling defiance, fusing raw distorted guitar grooves with a devil-may-care energy. The baritone guitar, a new instrument for Jafar, lends to the album’s swaggy, groovy heaviness. This is evident on songs like “Come Apart,” where a heavy riff with beautiful simplicity meets brash, punchy drums with a swing groove feel—a combination signature to The Blue Stones. The opening lines of the chorus, “Woke up with a headache // Don’t know how I’m gonna work today”, offer a poignant take on today’s hyperconnected, chronically online world. Then there’s “Happy Cry,” a moment of catharsis and raw emotion. With its live-off-the-floor energy and soaring vocals, it bursts with triumphant release, capturing the thrill of starting over and embracing growth. The Blue Stones’ sound—a melting pot of rock, blues, hip-hop, and pop—has always set them apart. They thrive on contrasts: they’re the heaviest band at alt festivals they’ve played like Osheaga and Bonnaroo, but the most melodic band at fests like Aftershock – always sticking to their own carved-out path. “We’ve always wanted our music to empower people,” says Justin. “This record is about reconnecting with your authentic self—the part of you buried under everyone else’s expectations.”

His dad, a drummer turned truck driver, loved old cars. As a boy, he remembers a Falcon, “red interior, and the carpet. The way it smelled.” He used to love to pile in with his dad, riding around, going to get donuts – and listening to music.
“I was 8 or 9, and I didn’t get it,” he laughs. “It was John Prine. My dad’s favorite was ‘One Red Rose.’ It’s funny. I knew all the words. I’d be singing along without a clue, but loving it... loving the line ‘What I never knew, I never will forget...’”
Like Prine, Moon’s finger is on simple things that really matter; easy joy and how to find it, loving where you are and finding ways to write about it so everyone – the really smart, the can’t be-bothered – can find their way to the bliss. It’s what Moon seeks to capture and sow in his songs.
Growing up an hour outside of Atlanta, back when it was country not exurbia, life moved at a different pace. People knew each other, took their time, shared a meal on Sunday with their family and pitched in when someone needed a hand.
Moon wanted to extract the essence of growing up in small-town Georgia. Banjo forward, swaggy back beat, guitars that tang as much as twang. Sonic tags, melodies that tumble and moments that embody all the warm welcome and friendliness that defined his life as a kid listening to his mama play Alison Krauss in her car, his debut album GOOD TIME creates an old school sort of country ethos that also drags a bit of Michael Franti, Prine, the Eagles and Outkast through songs that simmer, stir and sizzle in all the right places.
“In middle school, I started having my own opinions about everything,” he’s quick to offer. “Nirvana, Offspring, Green Day, Sister Hazel, Outkast, Tupac, Biggie. That drum and bass rhythm section of hip- hop, I just fell in love with. Didn’t know what they were talking about, either, but I really loved the way the drums knocked me out!
“My hair was all long. I was wearing basketball jerseys, JNCOs, playing hacky sack before school. I didn’t know what I was, so I was taking it all in, trying to figure out who I was.”
All of it turned out to be more than anyone could’ve bargained for. A musically curious kid, he remembers watching his dad practicing drums in the garage. “I got chills. I couldn’t comprehend how he was doing it,” he remembers. “I was so little, but he was in a touring regional country/rock band, had hair down to his waist. He gave it up, made the decision it was better for his family to just drive. I always respected him for that. You know, he was getting up at 4 a.m. to provide for his family.
“But he was such a fan of music, of songwriters. To just sit and listen to what they did with the story and the language. He – and my mom, who had the sweetest voice – were always singing to me. There’s a rhythm to that, too.”
That rhythm is shot through every track on GOOD TIME, a self-cultivated positivity starter kit. Whether the staccato/dobro punctuated laundry list of ‘can’ts’ that forms “GOOD AT LOVING YOU,” the double entendre “WAY BACK,” the slinky, finger-snapping “SMALL TOWN STATE OF MIND,” or the strummy philosophy of “WITHOUT SAYIN’ A WORD,” Moon recognizes you can’t have heart without the beat.
“The rhythm, the groove, the lyric: it’s all important,” he protests, trying to home in on his sweet spot. “The songwriter in me says it’s the words; but at the end of the day, it’s the rhythm. Rhythm’s the more elemental thing. The head and the heart, right? The heart is deeper a lot of time, and I want my music to move people. When they love the way it makes them feel, they’ll get there. But... I want to reach the ones who love the lyric, who really focus on what you’re saying, too.”
If the secret sauce is the alchemy, it’s been years in the slow-steeping. Not only did Moon produce Franti’s acclaimed Stay Human, Vol. 2, he’s been the secret weapon for Zac Brown for almost a decade. In love with music, the young kid caught up with the circus, “back at the Dixie Tavern on Wednesday nights, 200 people with the line wrapped around the bar and across the back. ‘Chicken Fried,’ ‘Toes,’ ‘Free,’ yes, but he would do Metallica, Rage Against the Machine, Keith Whitley. And his picking, there’s always a hook built into the chord, even when he’s just playing G, C, D.”
Writing, traveling, seeing the world, Moon absorbed a precision and commitment to music that was exacting, even as it embodied simple pleasures. “Everyone in that band is so good. Spending 10 years watching them arrange and create was intense. Relentlessly authentic and refusing to adapt to other people’s ideas of what you should be was a real lesson.”
Ten years was also spent living the life. In the rock & roll Jetstream, Moon confesses, “I had it in my mind to be a real artist you had to live this life: always moving on, lonely, smoking a lot of cigarettes, lots of girls, drugs and drinking. That Jack Kerouac way of you have to suffer a little to really be an artist. But that was a story I invented...” Tragedy collided with magic.
With an engagement imploding in the most high-impact way – see the sinewy “DRUNK OVER YOU” – Moon sought higher ground. Young, talented and good-looking, it was easy to shut off, shutdown and remain aloof. But that’s when he met Anna, who Facebook friended him after a photographer she was thinking of using showed her Moon’s picture in his photo portfolio.
“I was playing Atlanta, so I invited her to the show,” the reformed player remembers. “She came, and was so beautiful. I thought we were gonna hang out, but she stayed two minutes, told me she liked the show and left.”
A proper date, a real conversation and the news that she, too, was a songwriter intrigued him. Unaware that she’d already appeared in Italian Vogue, he asked her to play a song. He was stunned. “She didn’t know how good she was.”
Smiling now, he confesses, “I was in love at first sight, but that creative force changed everything. I knew she’d understand me, get me – and while she was from an hour north of Atlanta and I was from an hour west of Atlanta, we were basically from the same small town.”
Though they were writing for her UK pop deal, they never stopped collaborating. As importantly, they had fun. Even in the lean years, the pair created joy where they were with what they had – and it seeped into their songs, their sounds and the way they saw the world.
“I’ve never cared about playing solos, only how the songs feel,” Moon explains. “When I was renting a room from my buddy for $200 a month and making $100 a night, Anna was right there, and she got that, too. She still does.
“We were lying in bed one night, talking and ‘LAST CALL’ just dropped out. The last line of the chorus, ‘If lovers are like alcohol, then you’re my last call...’ It hit home, because I’d been drinking so heavy when I met her, I was missing all the good stuff. Then I met her, and well, you hear the songs.”
The songs, absolutely. The cascading wonders of the world “DIAMOND,” which his lover overwhelmingly outshines, the arcing be-in-the-moment “LET IT RIDE,” the harmony slathered “NO SAD SONGS” and the 2x Platinum No. 1 debut single “GOOD TIME” all bear witness to Moon’s hybrid sound and spirit. “When you’re in a beautiful moment, soak that up, bring it in and watermark your memories with a song, with these songs. Find a way to remember...
“I got a tattoo that says, ‘This, too, shall pass.’ Me and my dad both did, because he used to tell me that, and it’s true. If you can find ways to remember, to hold on to the feelings and everything in that moment, that’s the deal. It’s so simple: I’m the first person to tell you I’m just trying to make people happy. Life is so short; you’re here, and then you’re gone. I want to enjoy every moment – and if (the songs) are the best thing we can give people, do for each other, then I’m all about it.”
So much so, that Moon holed up at home and started playing around with sounds, rhythms, grooves and Miss Anna Moon. Between them, they crafted 14 songs that distill the essence of who they are, how they were raised, where they grew up and the things that matter. Laughing, he says, “Finding Anna was really finding myself. We both exist in this music, in these songs – and in this life, what makes you happy is love, whether Anna or your friends, your family and the way you choose to see the world. These songs, I hope, create a space to pick the beauty in a bad day... and make you bob your head a little.”

With a soulful bellow, razor-sharp songcraft, and no shortage of good old-fashioned true grit, Logan Crosby tells classic country stories through a crystal-clear 21st century lens. When he recalls a lovers’ escape in a vintage Chevy, he doesn’t forget to mention the contents of the ashtray. If he depicts an exchange between a young man and his (potential) future father-in-law, the rhythm will summon the anxiousness of a nervous pause. Loaded with such vivid details, these vignettes, experiences, and memories bloom out loud across upbeat and undeniable country anthems amplified by just the right amount of rock energy. Born and raised in the small town of Milledgeville, GA, he grew up immersed in music. During fourth grade, his aunt bought him a “real guitar” for Christmas. By junior high, he fell in love with the instrument. Attending the University of Georgia, he split his time between pursuing a major in political science and performing at bars, restaurants, and parties. 2022 saw Logan star in ABC’s Claim To Fame. Doors 7PM VIP / 8PM General AdmissionShow 9pmWhen Jeremie Albino was a teenager, he started busking around Toronto, setting up along the boardwalk or on a street corner downtown, wherever he thought he might find some passersby. “Usually nobody was listening,” he says, “but occasionally one or two people would tell me it sounded great. They had places to be and things to do, but they would stop and listen for a little while. That kind of interaction felt very special to me, and that’s when I realized I really do love performing. That’s when I realized I could hold a listener’s interest and give something back to them.”
That experience set Albino on his path, and it showed him how much joy can be found in the simple act of connecting with a listener, whether it’s an entire crowd or just one person in that crowd. Since then, he has refined a vital and idiosyncratic mix of styles and sounds that are rooted in tradition but grasping toward the future: His songs are grounded in the gritty storytelling of classic country music, propelled by the rhythms of old-school R&B, played with the wild abandon of early rock ’n’ roll, and sung with the deep feeling of southern soul. Thanks to his sweaty, livewire concerts, he has been steadily growing his audience from a few passersby to packed houses around Canada and the U.S. Our Time In The Sun, his soulful fourth solo album, sounds like the culmination of what he started out on the street corners of Toronto.
The title track showcases his remarkable range—emotionally, vocally, and stylistically. Anchored in a Stax rhythm section and punctuated with dramatic horns, it’s a dusty country-soul number about good love curdling into bad, but there’s none of the romantic recrimination that infects so many breakup songs. Rather, in his performance as much as in his lyrics, Albino conveys a warm generosity toward somebody who tried just as hard as he did to make it work. He’s the rare singer who’s always in the moment, taking nothing about the song or the melody or the lyrics for granted. And he brings the listener right into the moment with him. “I try to put my heart into everything,” he says. “There’s really no other way for me to do it. If I’m not putting everything into the song, then why would I even bother to sing it?”
As much as he loves performing and winning over listeners, Albino by his own admission has never felt that same connection to songwriting, but he made a breakthrough on Our Time in the Sun. Working with producer Dan Auerbach, he emerges as a sharp, observant songwriter who is quick with a clever turn of phrase and open to the emotional nuance of the stories he’s telling on “I Don’t Mind Waiting” and the raw “Struggling With The Bottle.” “I used to struggle with writing. Okay, I used to hate it. Whenever I needed to write new songs, I would just sit there for months toiling away.” When he signed with Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound label, however, they spent hours and hours bouncing ideas off one another, their sessions becoming a masterclass on how to write a good, solid song.
