Whistler's iconic multimedia night walk, Vallea Lumina, invites you to experience the enchantment of a hidden valley where stardust falls from the sky, filling all living things with its pure light. Join us on this evening excursion, following a path marked by the lingering traces of two long-ago hikers in search of unexpected enchantment. Don’t miss the clues along the way!
Details

Pathway: The Vallea Lumina pathway is 1.5km of undulating, unpaved trail including over 200 steps up and down stairs.
Duration: The walk typically takes between 45-60 minutes to complete.
Showtimes: The first showtime begins at sundown. Current tour times are available online.
Booking: Advance booking is required as space is limited, with earlier showtimes selling out fastest.
Arrival: Please arrive at the showtime listed on your ticket.
Supervision: There must be at least one adult aged 19 or older with guests 15 years old or under.
Tickets: After booking, a confirmation email containing your tickets will be sent. Please have your tickets ready to be scanned at check-in.
Email Tips: Sometimes confirmation emails end up in the junk folder, so please check there if you do not receive your tickets.

Mobility

This experience takes place on a partially leveled gravel trail network and is not paved.
The path is not recommended for guests with reduced mobility due to several staircases with over 200 steps.
For little ones, using a baby carrier is recommended. Strollers, including off-road/sports models, are not permitted due to the number of stairs.
Benches are available throughout the experience for resting and relaxing.

First stop on this tour brings you to Shannon Falls where you can stand below and feel the mist of the thundering water. British Columbia’s third highest waterfall, 336 metres (1100 feet) is a perfect way to start a day of adventure!

 Whistler Olympic Village

Arriving at Whistler, you will visit the chalet-style pedestrian village, the beating heart of this resort town. If you wish, partake in our complimentary walking tour of the village to get the lay of the land – the energy is palpable here.

 Lost Lake or Farmers Market

 Train Wreck

About the Ancient Cedars Guided Hike
The Ancient Cedars hike in Whistler, BC, is a beautiful trail that takes you through a lush forest of old-growth cedar trees. The hike is approximately 5km round trip and can be completed in about 1-2 hours, depending on your pace. Along the way, you'll be surrounded by towering cedar trees, some of which are hundreds of years old.
Highlights:

Witness some of the largest cedar trees in the region, with some reaching heights of over 50 meters.
Enjoy a glimpse into the ancient forests that once covered much of British Columbia.
Suitable for families and beginners, the trail is well-maintained and relatively flat.

Location: Drive your own vehicle or take advantage of our free roundtrip shuttle from Whistler Village. This tour takes place at our Cougar Mountain Basecamp, located on Cougar Mountain, just 12 minutes north of Whistler Village, BC, in a coastal temperate rainforest with magnificent mountain and valley views.

Requirements:

All guests must sign the online release of liability waiver linked in the confirmation email.
Tours run rain or shine.
All tours are fully guided by professionally trained guides.
Chaperone Policy: Ages 12 and under require a full paying adult (19+) on tour with them. Ages 13-15 require a free adult chaperone (19+) to be at the base for the duration of the tour. Ages 16+ can join all tours without a chaperone, granted the minimum requirements are met.


What to Bring:

Wear appropriate clothing for the weather conditions. Activewear and waterproof layers such as a shell jacket and pants in the event of inclement weather.
Closed-toe shoes are required.

What to Expect:

Trail Details: The Winter Vallea Lumina pathway is a 1km forest trail with leveled gravel, rolling hills, and a staircase.
Outdoor Experience: This experience is entirely outdoors.
Café: Open with a selection of hot non-alcoholic beverages and treats (including marshmallows and s'mores!) available for purchase.

Experience Overview:

The Winter Vallea Lumina pathway takes 30 to 45 minutes to complete, depending on each visitor. Plan for about 1 hour to fully enjoy the experience.
Advance Booking: Highly recommended due to the popularity of our show times.
Arrival: Please arrive at the showtime listed on your ticket. Have your confirmation email and tickets ready for scanning.

What to Bring:

A sense of wonder!
Dress for the Weather: Winter jackets, pants, gloves, and toques are recommended. Closed-toe winter boots or shoes with soles suitable for snow and ice are highly recommended. High-heeled shoes or boots are not advised.

Notes & Restrictions:

Adult Supervision: At least one adult aged 19 or older is required for guests 15 years old or under.
Weather: Tours run in all weather. Dress appropriately for winter conditions.
Mobility: Paths are not recommended for people with reduced mobility. Baby carriers are recommended for young children. No umbrellas or flash photography allowed to ensure all guests can enjoy the full experience without disruption.

Cancellation Policy:

Non-Refundable: Tickets are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled. If the show cannot operate due to severe weather or technical difficulties, tickets will be refunded automatically.
Late Arrivals: Allowed but may be delayed if the next showtime is sold out. No entry after the last showtime of the evening.

Do you dare?The Advanced Aerial Obstacle Course features 70 different obstacles, from rope swings to balance beams, reaching heights of up to 60 feet above the forest floor. Your guide will be there cheering you on from below as you navigate a variety of features. Rise to the challenge and experience the canopy from an elevated perspective. This is an advanced-level obstacle course, so get ready to sweat!

Requirements:

Guests must have a reach of 5'11" (180 cm) with their heels on the ground and hands straight up in the air.
Maximum weight limit is 250 lbs.
There must be at least one adult aged 19+ supervising from the ground at all times for every 10 children participating. Chaperones are free.
Guests must be at least 6 years old.
Due to the length and difficulty, we recommend children under the age of 10 successfully participate in the beginner half course before attempting the advanced full course.
