They can face discrimination when they do receive it. The Connect Fund can change all that. We pay for care for those who need it. The North Sound was created to share stories of Forrest's Blackfoot identity and traditions from Treaty 7 Territory. With a no-holds-barred approach to songwriting, Forrest’s lyrics span haunting metaphors from everyday experiences to personal realities.  
The band’s lyrics and music balance modern production techniques with writing sensibilities inspired by great storytellers like Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris. The North Sound is signed to the independent Indigenous record label New Sun Music (Nashville, TN, USA), created by JUNO award winner Crystal Shawanda and her partner Dewayne Strobel. 
The North Sound has had four singles reach number one on the Indigenous Music Countdown as well as Saskatchewan's MBC Radio. The band won Sask Music's Indigenous Artist of the Year award (2020) and has received three nominations from the Saskatchewan Country Music Association (SCMA): Group of the Year, Roots Album of the Year, and their song, Heavy Heart, up for Producer of the Year with Jesse Wieman.

Unleash your creativity and curiosity in our Introductory Taxidermy Class hosted by The Sleeping Sirens! Designed for beginners, this hands-on course offers a fascinating glimpse into the art and science of taxidermy. 
What to Expect:
Class begins promptly at 10am and ends at 4pm. 
We provide each student with either a skinned, cleaned, and tanned racoon or rabbit hide depending on the workshop you are taking. 
The first half of class is focused on preparing your form, setting the eyes, test fitting and mounting the hide, as well as grooming. 
After our first 30-minute break class shifts towards base preparation and mounting your project.

And after pushing back at life — stabbing a steak to her boss’s desk and lighting a magazine rack on fire, for instance — freshly unemployed Beth regroups at her mom’s suburban home. Just when Beth starts to think she’s to blame for systemic limits, the gift of a bird feeder sparks a relationship with a talking Crow who reconnects her with her true power.
This sly chamber piece from new voice Caleigh Crow turns post-capitalism ennui on its head with a righteous fury. It unearths the subtle and not so subtle ways we gaslight the marginalized (especially Indigenous women), people living with mental-health afflictions, and anyone struggling to make ends meet in low-income service jobs. About Native Earth Performing Arts 
Native Earth Performing Arts is Canada’s oldest professional Indigenous performing arts company. Currently, in their 42nd year, they are dedicated to developing, producing, and presenting professional artistic expressions of the Indigenous experience in Canada.
Through stage productions (theatre, dance, and multi-disciplinary art), new script development, apprenticeships, and internships, Native Earth seeks to fulfill a community of artistic visions. It is a vision that is inclusive and reflective of the artistic directions of members of the Indigenous community who actively participate in the arts.

Solidaridad is North America’s original all-woman, diversity-affirming tango ensemble. Founded in 2021 by Aparna Halpé, it creates fair work, professional development, and performance opportunities for women tango musicians. Solidaridad is proud to present new music by women tango composers and arrangers from around the world, delivered in a historical performance style that keeps the old alive in the new. Following sold out performances in Toronto and Oregon, and headlining La Nuestra Tango Festival in NYC in 2022, the ensemble toured their debut album in Buenos Aires in 2023, where they performed at iconic tango venues, and at the Universidad Nacional de las Artes. Solidaridad’s debut album DISTANCIA (2023) is nominated for New/Emerging Artist and Best Instrumental Album for the 20th Anniversary edition of the Canadian Folk Music Awards 2025. Their album of virtual recordings of classic tangos Sos Lo Más will be released by Lulaworld Records in 2025, and their third album will be produced by the titan of tango production, Latin-Grammy winning producer, Ignacio Varchausky in 2026.

Calling all beginners—this night is just for you! Spurs is back with an event designed for first-timers and anyone looking to learn the basics.
No experience? No problem!
You'll get two step-by-step lessons from friendly instructors who will guide you through the moves at an easy pace. Once you’ve got the hang of it, stick around to show off your new skills and dance the night away to a mix of country and queer favourites. Whether you're flying solo or bringing friends, all are welcome—bring your boots and a good time!
(We want to emphasize this is for beginners and that even if you've never danced before you can still come and enjoy yourself)
 
Like its ambisextrous namesake, Buddies’ in-house bar and performance space Tallulah’s Cabaret does it all. It’s throbbing club nights and community tap dance lessons. High-concept drag and low-stakes open mics. Go for pre-drinks but stay late for the post-show discourse—maybe even spark that next collaboration. With local brews and sober options that aren’t an after-thought, Tallulah’s is the come-as-you-are bar for old friends, new lovers, partiers, poets, and curious passerby. See you under the chandeliers.
Tallulah’s Cabaret is open Wednesday to Sunday from 6:00pm to midnight (or later).

Spurs Night

Bandura on Bloor opens its inaugural concert season with a performance featuring Ukrainian-American bandurist and soprano Teryn Kytasty-Kuzma and Toronto-based bandurist Yarko Antonevych.
Presented by the Toronto Bandura Festival, Bandura on Bloor is a musical concert series in Toronto showcasing solo bandura performers, small ensembles, and bands featuring the bandura. Join us for this delightful opportunity to spend your Friday evening with the magical sounds of the bandura in downtown Toronto! This performance will be followed by a post-concert reception for all the guests and performers.
All net proceeds from this event will be donated to the Canada-Ukraine Foundation.

Ukrainian-American singer and bandurist Teryn Kytasty-Kuzma (she/her) is a versatile performer and musician of classical, contemporary, musical theater, and folk repertoire. Her upcoming engagements include being a featured soprano and bandurist in the 2025 Ukrainian Contemporary Music Festival in NYC, as well as her recently appointed position as Artistic Director of the Kobzarska Sich Bandura and Vocal Programs. In addition to her emerging singing career, Teryn is devoted to maintaining the art of the bandura and Ukrainian music. Recently, she was awarded the role of Concertmaster for the Women’s Bandura Ensemble of North America, and has been working alongside Zoya Shepko to revive the New York Bandura School.
Yarko Antonevych

Yarko Antonevych began playing the bandura in 1968. His first teacher was Petro Kytasty. Later that same year, he performed with the Hnat Khotkevych Bandura Ensemble, directed by Walentyna Rodak, at the 50th Anniversary of the UBC, which took place at the Ford Auditorium in Detroit, MI. Yarko studied classical guitar and jazz at Palm Beach Jr. College and Florida Atlantic University. Throughout his 56 years of bandura playing (44 years professionally), Yarko has performed in concert halls & folk & music festivals in Canada & the USA, along with continuing the kobzar tradition by performing in private homes and busking on streets and subway stations. Yarko is very grateful to William Vetzal for providing him with the finest banduras.
